Poverty Law Internship

The General Poverty Law Internship provides an opportunity for students to work on a wide range of civil legal issues facing low-income Mainers including, housing, comsumer law and public benefits. Students will work with attorneys and advocates to respond to the immediate needs of individual low-income clients. This position is a great introduction to public interest and poverty law.

Student responsibilities will include client intake on-going client communication, case management, research, and other case work. Students will have the opportunity to observe staff in court and students who have completed their 2nd year in law school will have the opportunity to provide representation in court.
